Literacy Centers
Students work together during Literacy Centers. One activity is Listen to Reading which models oral fluency and allows students to practice reading comprehension by responding to reading . Word Work increases spelling and sight word vocabulary accuracy. In the Poetry center, students write about familiar poems, and make observations about patterns they see in poetry. Writing about reading is done in their Reading Journal. Writers have an opportunity to improve the skills they learn in the Empowering Writers program at the Writing Center.

Look for a new behavior calendar to come home Wednesday in the back of the green take home folder. Students who follow school/class expectations will color the day green, it was a good day!! If the day is yellow, it was an o.k. day. The color red means it was a tough day and we need to work together to make things better. Please sign the calendar at the end of each week.
Please remember we are a peanut/tree nut free classroom. Do not send in snacks that contain nuts or are manufactured in a factory that processes nut products. PLEASE check labels.
