During our science unit, Animal Diversity, we compared different habitats around school.
A LOG’s LIFE
This week in reading we enjoyed the narrative nonfiction book A Log‘s Life. We learned about the lifecycle of a tree, and then took a walk in the woods to see the changes that happened during a log’s life in person.

Mrs. Noon's 4th grade authors came to share the non-fiction books they wrote.
Channel 12 Meteorologist T.J. DelSanto came to share his experience as a weather forecaster with us. He showed us a few different weather instruments and how Sky Drone 12 works.

Students had a chance to practice many different math concepts during a math problem egg hunt in the outdoor classroom.

ADOPT A PEEP!
Students practiced responsibility, creativity, and writing when they adopted a Peep for a week.
The class enjoyed sharing their love of reading with their Peeps!!
PINATAS!
While leaning about the Chinese culture students learned about eating with chopsticks, also know as kuàizi, and how to write using chinese characters.

Raider came for a visit to listen to a story read aloud by the students. He was very excited to see the kids and visit the reading buddies bin filled with stuffed animals! He tasted quite a few! He was a great listener when the class read the poem that they had written especially for him! We are so lucky to have a comfort dog in our district!

Students demonstrated how they were 100 days smarter by using engineering ideas to work cooperatively and make a creation out of sets of 100 different building materials! Their S.T.E.M. creativity shined through!!

Applying real life math skills during a
PUMPKIN INVESTIGATION
Pumpkins were measured using standard and non-standard measure, weighed , lines were counted , predictions were made about buoyancy, seed size and quantity, and of course, we scooped out the guts and carved a face!
